There were a variety of videos made about the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser prior to the opening of the experience. Here we provide links to those that remain publicly available as a glimpse into the history and development of this amazing and unique endeavor. This page is not intended to air the many negative reactionary videos that some of the pre-opening spots as well as the pricing triggered. Imagineering Roundtable

In this roundtable presented by Disney Imagineering, you get a sense of the immersive storytelling and intrinsic game nature of the experience as envisioned by the designers before it opened.

D23 Expo Unveiling

This video shows the unveiling at D23 of the specifics of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience. Ann Morrow Johnson walks the audience through the immersive nature and some of what guests would encounter on their two night galactic journey.

Ordinary Adventures Speculative Look

The Ordinary Adventures podcast hosts took a speculative look at the information from the D23 Expo unveiling as well as additional spoilers and details and speculated on what the adventure would be like, As they walked through the concept info, they talked about some of what they hoped they would see on the trip. While some of their guesses were off the mark, their take on the trip was upbeat, hopeful, and one of the few reaction videos before the opening that captured the kind of positive energy that Disney ultimately delivered on.

This video provided another take on some of the details about what the experience would entail. This interview format with Ann Morrow Johnson is one that may not have been seen by many before the opening of the Starcruiser.

Halcyon “Passenger” Welcome Video

This video was sent to some passengers after booking but before their trip. To understand this video, you need the proper viewpoint – that of a citizen of the Galaxy who has booked a luxury vacation cruise on the Halcyon. In that context, this is not about what Disney guests of the experience would really encounter. It is playing the storyline of the 275th anniversary cruise. Only the *legal disclaimer* at the end hints at the kinds of intrigue and adventure that actually would occur.

Opening Announcement

This was the video that announced the opening of the Galactic Starcruiser for the spring of 2022. It uses much of the same concept art previously seen, but also includes a sequence shot in the actual bridge of the Halcyon.

Brief Commercial

This was the 30 second commercial promo for the Galactic Starcruiser. It didn;t give much of a look due to the short typical TV commercial length.

Promo Video

No honest collection of pre-opening videos would be complete without the original promotional video that was widely panned and quickly removed. Taken in a broader context, those who later experienced the Starcruiser may be able see what they were going for here without story spoilers. But without the experience itself first, this promo fell flat and likely contributed to the lack of understanding of the experience and the negative press that hurt broad appeal.
